Excitment for the waiting room!

So, I’m getting ready for my counseling client when I am told that he has arrived…early. No big deal. I head out to greet him and said “Hi, how are you?” while directing him back to my office. His response was ‘Well, I spent the past week in jail and slept with a married woman while drunk off my ass and I don’t quite remember it. So, here is what happened…”

We weren’t in the office yet so everyone in the waiting room heard him and all looked up dropping their reading material. I walked more quickly back to the office while he continued to launch into his story.

It was a productive sessions since he was clearly excited to discuss his “eye opening” experience. When I walked him out he said “Well, I’ll see you next week baring any other interactions with the law or angry husbands beating down my door.” Of course, everyone in the waiting room heard again. When I was turning to walk back to the office I heard someone say “Screw TV I just need to hang out here!”
